PROTAC databases

PROTAC (Proteolysis targeting chimera) is fantastic technology that can degrade specific proteins. It uses a small molecule with a capability to bind the protein to be degraded and an active site that binds to E3 ubiquitin ligase. Using the PROTAC pulls the protein into ubiquitin based degradation pathways by ubiquitination of the protein and subsequent degradation through the proteasome.

Two databases to use for designing the next PROTAC:

BioGRID: database of protein, genetic and chemical interactions. For example look at : “biovalent” as a search term and you can find:

https://thebiogrid.org/chemical/10010/bivalent-ligand-264.html

that is a PROTAC for binding multiple proteins such as AKT2
