Kurzgesagt – explaining visually

Everyone is exposed to complex topics and AI LLM based chatbots help in the understanding if a conversation is needed. Another way is to observe it visually. A company is doing is very well and explaining complex things visually. They have taken on complex tasks explaining scientific topics and their illustrations and videos can simplify even a complex topic into easier side chunks with amazing illustrations.

Consider the illustration in the picture – it breaks down the complex illustrations into interactions that look like a metro – subway map with each node being a cell and its interaction looking like a link between them.

There are many more videos in Youtube from Kurzgesagt but check out this youtube one:

    Novel Catalyst

There are many reactions in biology that are catalyzed by enzymes but there are other reactions in industrial chemistry that use industrial catalysts which have primarily been platinum based. A paper in Nature https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-026-68432-1 promises a unique shaped catalyst that can split H-H bond and other reactions. It is a unique structure and promises to…

8 pillars according to Kent L. Thornburg, MS, PhD, FAPS, Oregon Health & Science University Pillar 1: We all carry a genetic burden from our parents and grandparents, with most money spent on late-stage prevention rather than early-stage prevention. Pillar 2: Birthweight associations reveal that average-term births are least associated with disease, while high- and…

  • Morphological length

In alligator length estimation, the snout-eye-length is an approximation of length used for some species and speaks about proportionality of growth. For example, each inch length from the eye of the crocodile to the end of the snout equals the length of the alligator. For example 3 inches of snout-eye-length implies that the alligator is…

    ALS and TDP43

Almost 90% of ALS is thought to be sporadic. The reasons are not well understood and thought to be oxidative stress, damaged endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria, cytoskeleton or misregulation of RNA pathways. One protein implicated is TDP43 which sits as a junction of ALS pathogenic path by binding to RNA modulation synthesis, splicing, stability and transport….
