Wonderful biological tools

There are so many tools available these days for biologists. It is such a dream…
For example, to show which protein interacts with others, it is possible to just plug-in a protein name and find all the other proteins using “String”.
In this example the search was for proteins interacting with Tau (Microtubule associated protein – MTAP) associated with tau-pathies such as Parkinson’s in Hom sapiens.
This data comes from a large consortium of organizations – Swiss institute of Bio-informatics, CPR-NNF center for protein research and EMBL – European Molecular Biology Lab.
It is possible to select species where these association studies were done and decide on the correlation.
Amazing.
