Biology games

There have been many games that have been developed to enhance the understanding of biology and not many of them are good. However, when they work well – like this example from the Nobel prize foundation that is illustrated below – they illustrate the concept well. One wonders how many of these games illustrate all the concepts of biology educationally AND are also entertaining such that the user is not bored and continues using the game.

The learning can happen specifically in which the concepts are taught and illustrated or can happen casually, in that the user learns the concept without specifically playing a game. In addition, there has been a link between the behavior in a game and measured with a specific score and cognition. It will be oddly interesting to measure specific responses in biological games as biomarkers for biological disorders! See what you experience…
