Many displays serve as just just reflections of what the computer projects. However, it would be cool to have a display that see’s what you are looking at and then augments the display. Such Virtual Reality (VR)displays are just being created and though all the attention has been given to Google glass, there are several companies and groups that have been working on such displays. One memorable one has been the work that is being created through a startup called “Meta” which is building a computerized display that has a camera mounted in its display so works very well for augmented reality applications. See the link below for more information.

AI | TechnologyKnowledge graphs
Knowledge graph is a way of representing information where entities/nodes (people, places, products, concepts) are linked by relationships/edges (works, creates, has ). It is a semantic network that captures facts and context. There is also an ontology that defines different types of node/edges and defines what types exist and how they relate. These are used…
Quantum computing
On May 15th Dr McGeoch of Amherst University presented a paper about a test that was done to compare computers running conventional binary logic with computers using quantum computing chips. It is fascinating to see that the quantum computers have made the leap from just theory to actual machines. There were 3 tests done and…

Technology: Does brain perform multi-tasking like computers?
The term multi-tasking probably originated from computer terminology wherein two simultaneous tasks are carried on by the computer by distribution of tasks to various processors. A “super”computer was defined as on which had many processors and a lot of memory that could process computations in parallel. The human brain is obviously capable of some elementary…
