Social Media tricks Part 5 – Social buttons

Social media requires that the information is exchanged among friends, associates and colleagues. The company’s role in the exchange is to make it easier, for a person reading the company material, to exchange that information. This is enabled very simply on the website by enabling buttons for sharing the information socially. It takes only one-click to share that information as opposed to copying and pasting it. Pinterest for example has become very popular since they enable the sharing of information in pictures.

The social buttons similarly should be enabled on blog posts and even within emails. Anything to enable the users to “pin” the company’s content or rate it highly through Google enables distribution of information and also enhances the traffic back to the website.

Of course all this requires that someone at the company is tracking the usage and determining which articles are popular and developing the appropriate content. This will enable better engagement with the future customer and ultimately enhance sales.
